FAN CAMPAIGN UPDATE:
With
only two episodes left you know what that means; it’s time to put the hammer
down.

If
you haven’t already, get those letters written and sent to:
AMC President and CEO:
Josh Sapan
AMC Networks Inc.
11 Penn Plaza
New York, NY 10001
Aren’t
able send a letter, write an email or letter here:
IMPORTANT:
For those of you who have already sent your letters and emails, we cannot thank
you enough. This is, as the title states, a fan lead campaign. If you have yet
to send your letter or are in the process of, we cannot stress enough how
important it is to be POSITIVE. Passionate,
yes, but remain positive. Please and I do mean please refrain from any form of
disappointment or hatred. It is easy to get riled up when being passionate,
especially with a show such as this, but we must remain composed. We are a
loyal and fired up fan base because something we love could very well be taken
from us, but we must show AMC that in the midst of all this we are intelligent,
fervent fans, rather than fanatic and angry. I know we are upset that cancellation is a distinct possibility, but we will deal with that when and if
it comes.
We
also wanted to make sure you were composing a letter that contains these three
things, along with adding a personal touch:
2. What keeps you watching?
3. Why should it stay on the air?
But
please do not spend time adding what you think season three should be. Mr.
Sapan does not have control over content and that is not our battle. Our battle
is getting a season three for this show and allowing the creators and writers
to take this show on the journey they see fit. This is their baby and they
deserve to let it grow. We all have our ideas and wishes for these characters,
but in the end it is their decision. Please focus on these three points, while
making sure you let add yourself into the letter.
Episode
207’s ratings jumped a bit, but 208’s still took quite a tumble:
These numbers right
here prove why it is so important to watch these last two episodes LIVE. While
DVR numbers are factored in (after the fact), AMC is looking directly at the
LIVE numbers. We know it is so easy to just hit record and set up a series to
record, but if you want this show to stay on the air or for the numbers to
spike, PLEASE take the time, over the next two Sundays to sit down and watch it
LIVE. It is only an hour out of your night. We love this show and if the
previews mean anything, not only is it going to be intense; it’s going to be
worth it.
208:
Halt and Catch Fire is #86 on the list at .12
-----Fantastic
suggestion made in comments section on “Fan Campaign” blog:
Eli
makes an incredible point.
If
you aren’t doing anything, go onto AMC’s website and watch Halt and Catch Fire.
Steam it through the actual website rather than a torrent site, which is a
pirate site. Not only is that downloading something illegally, but it is not a
way for them to know we’re watching. I know it is difficult for people out of
the United States to watch Halt any other way. But for those of us in the US
this is a way to show AMC that we are watching this show and we want it to stay
on the air.
Last, but
certainly not least we have to give a shout out to the one and only Joshua
Hoover or as you may know him Bodie aka BodieSattva.
He
was more than kind enough to not only mention the #savehcf blog in his
Afterbuzz podcast, but the campaign itself. His twitter is @flavahoove please
follow and show some love.

Thank
you Josh for being an avid support of the blog and the campaign.

How about pushing for a viewing campaign on AMC's website? If part of the problem is too many people don't watch TV the old way, we should show AMC how popular Halt is by making it the most visited and streamed show on the website.”
